We passed the $100,000 mark!!

Thank you to all of our faithful supporters and volunteers as Collin’s Classic has helped over 1,000 children since 2004.  With your support, we look forward to continuing as we strive for $200,000 in donations for 2,000 children!

February 2013 – Coaches vs. Cancer

Transylvania University and basketball coaches Greg Todd and Brian Lane are teaming up against cancer. On Saturday, Feb 2nd in Lexington, KY, both Transylvania University Men’s and Women’s basketball programs, along with other university athletic programs, will participate in Coaches vs. Cancer. Proceeds from this event will benefit the programs of Collin’s Classic. Beginning at 1pm with the tip-off of the Women’s game again Rose-Hulman Institute, a silent auction will be taking place featuring products donated from local and national businesses, along with team memorabilia. The event will continue throughout the Men’s game at 3pm, and will also include national anthem performances from country music duo Aly’An. November 2012 – “Divided on the Court, United for Collin”

Basketball season is upon us bringing the first fall fundraiser for 2012! On Wednesday Nov. 28th the Centre College Colonels and the Transylvania Pioneers Men’s Basketball teams will square off head to head at Centre College Alumni Gymnasium in Danville, KY for their annual game while also supporting an event to raise money for the Collin’s Classic organization. “Divided on the Court” will represent the historic, traditional rivalry between the two schools all while players and students will be “United for Collin” in raising funds and awareness for children with cancer. Event cups will be available for purchase with a minimum donation of $2 and raffle tickets will be available for a variety of donated items. Aly’An (each Centre and Transylvania alums) will perform the national anthem on behalf of Collin’s Classic and a special presentation will be given at half-time. April 2012 – Collin’s Birthday Bash Spirit Day at Chick-fil-A

Help raise $19,000 for children with cancer as we celebrate what would have been Collin’s 19th birthday! Chick-fil-A of Harrodsburg Road in Lexington, KY has teamed up with Collin’s Classic to host a Collin’s Birthday Bash Spirit Day on April 26th, 2012. The event begins at 6:00am and will continue until 10:00pm. Stop by the restaurant and present the pictured flyer at check-out and 20% of your purchase will be donated to Collin’s Classic! There will be a live acoustic performance by Aly’an at 5:30PM and 7:00PM along with great food and fun! Don’t worry, if you forget to print the event flyer, just tell the cashier you are visiting on behalf of Collin’s Classic and they will make sure 20% of your bill is donated back to children with cancer! Visit the Collin’s Birthday Bash Facebook event and share with all of your friends! Together, we can make Collin’s Birthday Bash a success and raise money for children with cancer!

 October 2011 – “Coins for Collin” Campaign

Southside Elementary School in Versailles, KY will be hosting a “Coins for Collin” campaign throughout the month of October to raise money for children with cancer. Boxes will be placed in classrooms throughout the school and coins will be collected throughout the month. Donations of any amount are greatly appreciated.

Collin’s Classic for Children with Cancer President, Julia Poynter, and country music duet, Aly’an, visited Southside Elementary on October 7th for a campaign kick-off assembly. On Oct. 31st a closing event will be held at the school in celebration of coins collected. Prizes including t-shirts and Aly’an CD’s will be given to students whose names are selected from a drawing.

April 2011 – “Dine to Donate” at Carino’s Italian Grill in Lexington, KY

In April, Carino’s Italian Grill in Lexington, KY donated 10% of sales resulting in a donation of over $300.

March 2011 -  Delta Delta Delta at Transylvania University hosts “Water Wars”

For the 5th consecutive year, the Beta Zeta Chapter of Delta Delta Delta Sorority at Transylvania University hosted the annual “Water Wars” fundraiser.  A coin campaign and friendly competition in the campus pool led to the success of the event. Donations were collected throughout campus preceding the competition.

February 2011 – Transylvania University Greek Week Philanthropy

Transylvania University continued a long tradition of support during February as Greek Week selected Collin’s Classic for their philanthropic activity.  A “Coins for Campers” campaign and t-shirt sales were successful in raising enough funds to send 5 children to summer camp!

October 2010 – “Dine to Donate” at Ricardo’s in Versailles, KY

Ricardo’s in Versailles, KY hosted a Dine to Donate event in October 2010 raising over $300 for children with cancer!

April and July 2010 – “Rocking Before the Races for Kids with Cancer” in Lexington, KY and “Country Fun” in Owensboro, KY

In April, Aly’an headlined the “Rocking Before the Races for Kids with Cancer” concert  including  performances from Joe Havelda,  Peter Terry, KLIME, and Brothers Keeper in Lexington at Buster’s Billiards and Backroom. During the month of July, Aly’an was joined by Insulated for Owensboro’s  “Country Fun” event which consisted of live music, games and a silent auction.

The result? Over $13,000!
